Big Brother and Onethought in Australia

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2246361/Not-Gday-mate--Health-workers-Down-Under-banned-using-famous-Aussie-greeting.html

Compassion, affection and tactile words to be banned from health service in Australia. People are to be treated as automotons.

'G'day Mate' is the most famous of all Aussie greetings.
But health workers Down Under have been officially told they cannot call colleagues or patients 'mate.'
In a memo sent out to staff and health workers in the New South Wales region, they were reminded of the need for professional language within the workplace at all times.

It specifically referred to terms that could be seen as affectionate or endearing, such as the good old Aussie greeting of 'mate' which is commonly used in everyday language Down Under.
Other banned terms include 'darling,' 'sweetheart,' and 'honey.'
The memo said: 'The utilisation of this language within the work place at any time is not appropriate and may be perceived as disrespectful, disempowering and non-professional.
'This type of language should not be used across any level of the organisation such as employee to employee or employee to client.
The internal note says the directives are in line with the New South Wales ministry code of conduct.
The terms of endearment ban has caused much discussion on talkback radio throughout Austalia - with every call referring to presenters as 'mate,' 'cobber,' and 'dahl.'
