What the Independent thinks of the Church of England

The "zombie" church.

So I am a bigot and a zombie

http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/our-zombie-church-has-a-new-leader-so-what-8303658.html

In the article the author states "Whatever Welby's qualities, however, the truth is that he's taking charge of an organisation which doesn't matter to most of the population."

It was 'most of the population' that saved Barabus and wanted Jesus to be crucified.

Now we are learning that the Bride of Christ, doesn't matter to most of the population.

So what does matter to the population?

"In a modern democracy, no religion should be treated as part of the state apparatus, dominating public ceremonies and automatically having the ear of the prime minister and monarch"

So humanism and secularism needs to operate then in a state of democracy.

"The zombie church? It's a great metaphor for an institution that steadfastly refuses to modernise."

How prejudice against people remains legal

I notice how not one single politician has decried what Stonewall has done.

Neither has the police done anything.

This is the true deep Britain of the ruling class. If you are a minority being pillored which does not speak loudly, the police and the government will do nothing.

But I guess we do have the fairest government ever.

I note how this award has been around since 2007, when Labour was also in power.  I have only just found this out.  Strictly speaking it appears to be bigotry in the area of homosexuality that such people have been awarded, not a general bigotry.

As this continues I will see more and more why Christ died for us. And I am so thankful to Him.

Interesting how this happened on around the same time that the Coptic Church selected its new Pope. God has good timing.

Drafting speeches

Someone somewhere who drafts speeches for Nick Clegg, believes that people who think that marriage is only between a man and a woman are bigots, and that it is OK to draft that into a speech.
